Annual Sports Celebration 2025 – Goethe Tagore Academy
February 21, 2025 | Dhaka, Bangladesh
Goethe Tagore Academy (GTA) proudly commemorated International Mother Language Day 2025 with heartfelt tributes and active student participation, honoring the language martyrs of Ekushey February. The school campus was filled with a sense of pride, reflection, and cultural unity as teachers and young learners gathered to pay their deepest respects to the heroes of 1952.

The event began with a symbolic homage at the school’s Shaheed Minar, where students laid flowers and stood in silence to honor those who sacrificed their lives for the right to speak in their mother tongue. Dressed in traditional black-and-white attire, children carried placards, recited poems, and sang songs that reflected the depth and emotion of the historic day.
“Seeing our youngest students take part in commemorating the Language Movement is truly inspiring,” said a GTA teacher. “It’s not just about history—it’s about planting the seeds of love and respect for our mother tongue in every generation.”

The celebration emphasized the importance of preserving linguistic diversity, cultural identity, and fostering respect for all native languages. The school’s activities aligned with the global spirit of UNESCO’s International Mother Language Day, reminding us all that language is not only a means of communication but a bridge to heritage, identity, and freedom.
