Strengthening Impact through Collaboration: Two-Day Progress Review, Knowledge Sharing, and Strategic Planning Workshop in Cox’s Bazar

April 28, 2025

Cox’s Bazar, Bangladesh — A two-day Progress Review, Knowledge Sharing, and Strategic Planning Workshop was successfully completed with our valued partner MFIs — BURO Bangladesh and Water.org. The event brought together passionate professionals and development practitioners dedicated to advancing financial inclusion and sustainable WASH (Water, Sanitation, and Hygiene) solutions across Bangladesh.

Held in the serene coastal setting of Cox’s Bazar, the workshop provided an inspiring environment for reflection, learning, and collaboration. Over two insightful days, participants revisited project milestones, evaluated collective progress, and shared valuable experiences drawn from their work in microfinance and WASH initiatives. The sessions focused on identifying key challenges, innovative solutions, and strategic approaches to strengthen the impact of ongoing and future interventions.

Promoting Sustainable Microfinance and WASH Solutions

The workshop served as a vital platform to reinforce the partnership between BURO Bangladesh, Water.org, and other participating microfinance institutions. Discussions highlighted how integrating microfinance in Bangladesh with WASH programs empowers communities by improving access to safe water, sanitation facilities, and better hygiene practices.

Through interactive sessions and group discussions, participants exchanged field experiences and explored ways to enhance financial inclusion while ensuring long-term sustainability. This collaborative approach aligns with Bangladesh’s national goals and the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) — particularly those focused on poverty reduction, clean water, sanitation, and economic growth.

Moving Forward with Shared Vision

One of the key outcomes of the workshop was a jointly developed strategic plan designed to accelerate progress and strengthen coordination among partners. The discussions emphasized innovation, transparency, and continued partnership as essential pillars for achieving transformative change in the communities served.

As the workshop concluded, participants expressed appreciation for the open exchange of ideas and reaffirmed their commitment to building a stronger, more resilient future.

“Together, we are not only expanding access to financial services but also improving the quality of life through sustainable WASH solutions,” shared one of the participants, reflecting the spirit of collaboration that defined the event.

We extend heartfelt thanks to all our partners, facilitators, and team members from BURO Bangladesh and Water.org for their active participation, inspiring discussions, and continuous dedication.

With renewed energy and shared purpose, we look forward to advancing our mission — empowering communities, promoting sustainable livelihoods, and strengthening microfinance and WASH initiatives throughout Bangladesh.
